Convert Audio Online to MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, or FLAC

This free online audio converter changes MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC, and WebM audio into the format you need. Control the bitrate, sample rate, and mono or stereo channels, then preview the converted file before downloading it.

Conversion happens locally with FFmpeg WebAssembly. Your audio never leaves your device, so there is no server upload, account, waiting queue, or watermark.

How to convert an audio file online

  1. Choose an audio file. Drag and drop it onto the converter or browse from your device.
  2. Select the output settings. Pick MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, or FLAC, then adjust quality, sample rate, and channels if needed.
  3. Convert and download. Review the estimated size, select Convert Audio, listen to the result, and download the new file.

Which audio format should I choose?

  • MP3: the most widely compatible choice for sharing, websites, podcasts, and everyday playback.
  • M4A or AAC: efficient compressed audio for phones, apps, and modern media players.
  • OGG: an open compressed format commonly used in web and game projects.
  • WAV: uncompressed PCM audio for editing, production, and systems that require WAV files.
  • FLAC: lossless compression for archiving or preserving audio without the larger size of an uncompressed WAV.

Bitrate, sample rate, and channels

For compressed formats, a higher bitrate generally keeps more detail but creates a larger file. 128 kbps is a practical default for speech and casual sharing, while 192–320 kbps may suit music. A 44.1 kHz sample rate is standard for music; 48 kHz is common for video. Mono can reduce the size of speech recordings, while stereo preserves separate left and right channels.

Online Audio Converter FAQ

How do I convert WAV to MP3?

Choose the WAV file, select MP3 as the output, pick a bitrate, and select Convert Audio. A lower bitrate creates a smaller MP3; a higher bitrate retains more detail from the source.

Which input and output formats are supported?

Inputs include MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC, and WebM audio. You can export MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, or FLAC.

What is the best audio format?

It depends on the goal. Choose MP3 for compatibility, M4A or AAC for efficient compressed audio, WAV for uncompressed editing, FLAC for lossless storage, or OGG for an open web-friendly format.

Will converting an MP3 to 320 kbps improve its quality?

No. A higher output bitrate cannot restore detail already removed from a compressed source. It can only reduce additional loss during the new encode, usually at the cost of a larger file.

Why is bitrate unavailable for WAV or FLAC?

The bitrate presets apply to lossy compressed formats. WAV uses uncompressed PCM, while FLAC uses lossless compression; their sizes depend mainly on duration, sample rate, channels, and bit depth.

Is the online audio converter private?

Yes. The selected file is read and converted on your device. It is not uploaded to or stored by RizCraft.

What is the maximum file size?

You can select an audio file up to 500 MB. Browser memory may limit very long or high-resolution files on lower-powered devices.
