When all inputs are compatible MP3 files, the tool first attempts a fast merge without re-encoding. Mixed formats or MP3 files with different codec settings are converted to a consistent 192 kbps, 44.1 kHz stereo MP3 before being joined.
This is an end-to-end audio joiner: it places one file after another. It does not overlap tracks, mix background music under speech, trim individual files, add crossfades, insert silence, or normalize loudness. If source files have noticeably different volume levels, those differences remain audible in the merged result.
Long uncompressed WAV or FLAC recordings and mixed-format projects take more memory and processing time than matching MP3 files. For very large multi-hour projects, a desktop audio editor is more reliable than browser-based processing.
