PDF exports every page. PNG exports the selected page. Standard export: 150 dpi; high resolution: 300 dpi.
PDFs and images are processed in your browser. DOCX files use PDFonFly only after you choose to convert.

A scanned-paper finish, without a scanner

Open a PDF or image and adjust six settings while viewing the original and output side by side. Add a small tilt, change the exposure and contrast, scale the page content, soften sharp edges or add grain. Optional grayscale and edge shadows complete the effect.

Multipage PDFs retain their page sizes and order. Each page receives a small, repeatable rotation variation so pages look individually scanned. Move between pages to inspect the result before exporting. Animated GIF input uses its first frame.

For a Word document, use the conversion button after selecting the file. DOCX conversion uses PDFonFly and its normal limits; subsequent effects and exports run on your device. You can also convert to PDF yourself first.

The exported document contains page images. Text selection, links, form fields and digital signatures are not retained as interactive features. Keep your original document. A visual scan effect does not replace a physical scan when one is required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which file formats are supported?
PDF, DOCX, JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF. PDFs and images are opened locally. DOCX requires an explicit upload for Word-to-PDF conversion. An animated GIF uses the first frame.
Does the PDF export include every page?
Yes. It processes the pages one at a time, preserving their dimensions and order. Download PNG saves only the page you are currently previewing.
How can I get a subtle scan effect?
Start with a small rotation, a little blur and moderate noise. Increase brightness slightly and enable Paper border if you want edge shadows. Compare with the original as you adjust.
What changes with high resolution?
Export resolution increases from 150 to 300 dpi. This produces larger files and uses more memory. The preview stays lightweight. Very large pages are bounded to fit the browser and the status explains any resolution reduction.
Will the output remain searchable?
No. The scanned effect is exported as page images in a new PDF. Keep the original if you need searchable text, editable form fields, active links or verifiable digital signatures.
