PNG to JPG conversion makes sense when a lossless PNG contains a photograph, scan, or other image with many colors and the file is too large to share or upload. JPG compression can reduce that image substantially for email, forms, and photo-focused websites.
JPG does not support transparency. This converter places transparent and semi-transparent PNG areas on a white background, so logos, cutouts, and overlays should stay in PNG when their alpha channel is important.
The JPG output is lossy, and the quality slider controls the tradeoff between download size and visible detail. Use a higher setting for text or sharp edges, check the preview for artifacts, and keep the original PNG as the lossless master.

Keep your source files when you may need to edit them again. Converting to a lossy format such as JPG can reduce file size, but repeated lossy exports may gradually reduce visible detail.
